Video above shows coverage of the February incident. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Downtown Bar announced it would be closing "effective immediately," Sunday. In a Facebook post from the Bar and Lounge, they announced they would be closing "effective immediately." The post also thanked loyal pat rons and supporters. It was unclear the exact reason for the closure, but it comes following a shooting that happened early Sunday, March 30 and an incident involving a woman being beaten outside of the bar at the end of February. Following the incident in February, the bar owner, Judy Macon, told WANE 15 that security is a top priority, and they do not tolerate violence. “My police officers don’t come here for free. I come here and I have them here to make sure that everyone knows that we’re not going to have any mess,” said Judy Macon, one of the owners of Downtown Bar.
