ATLANTA, GA – A Charlotte man was shot and killed just blocks away from State Farm Arena in Atlanta where NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament games were held on Friday. Around 6:35 p.m. Friday, officers responded to Luckie Street NW and Mills Street NW in regards to one person being shot. Upon arr ival, officers located a 42-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and was admitted to the ICU but was pronounced dead early Saturday morning. Atlanta Police confirmed that the victim was from Charlotte in a news conference video posted to Facebook on Friday night. The case is being investigated as a homicide.
