FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) is investigating after shots were fired near Downtown Bar. According to a release from FWPD, at 1:45 a.m., an off-duty officer requested assistance after a fight broke out at Downtown Bar in the 1400 block of South Calhoun Street . When additional officers arrived, they heard gunshots nearby. Officers attempted to get information from several people in the area, trying to find out who was shooting. Later, a local hospital reported that a man had arrived in a personal vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. That individual was listed by doctors in a non-life-threatening condition. Detectives are still working the area, speaking with witnesses and gathering video evidence to piece together what caused the shooting.
