Temperatures rise through the 60s this morning.
We stay dry to start the early afternoon, and even areas of sunshine will make themselves known. Unfortunately, this may provide fuel for showers and storms, with some becoming severe, that move in late in the afternoon and into the evening.
A line of thunderstorms is expected to develop and track through the area. The best chance for severe weather is from 5 PM to 8 PM, but storms could arrive as early as 3 PM and last as late as 11 PM.
Severe storms are most likely early Sunday evening.
Damaging wind gusts are the highest concern, followed by medium threats for hail, localized flooding rainfall, and isolated tornadoes. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and stay tuned for the latest forecast updates.
Damaging winds are our biggest concern.
Ahead of these storms, temperatures climb into the 70s for high temperatures. Winds will also gust up to 35 mph outside of these storms. Something we are watching in regard to this severe weather potential is sunshine ahead of the storms. The earlier sunshine occurs, and the longer it sticks around, the more unstable our atmosphere could become. Let's hope for more cloud cover during the afternoon, which would limit how unstable our atmosphere can get.
A few areas of clearing skies may appear during lunchtime.Areas of sunshine continue for the afternoon.Showers and storms approach the region.Storms, some severe, move through around dinner time.Storms continue through the evening.Storms exit early overnight. A slight rain chance lingers.
Behind this system, colder air moves in. There is also a slight chance for a rain shower on Monday, but most stay dry. High temperatures tomorrow only reach the mid-40s, and April 1st just barely reaches the 50s for highs. Winds may gust up to 30 mph on Monday too.
A cold and cloudy Monday ahead.
While Tuesday will be dry, more severe weather potential looms in the forecast, with Wednesday being the next day to watch. Damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes are all threats on the table. As we approach Wednesday, we will continue to keep you up to date with the latest.
