Winter weather advisories in effect
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The good news with all of this is that temperatures will begin to warm up through the overnight hours as another wave of precipitation reaches WNY. This means that the precipitation will only fall as rain. Temperatures will co
ntinue their climb into the 60s by the afternoon tomorrow. The heaviest and more consistent rain will likely come through during the morning hours with more scattered showers throughout the afternoon hours. Temperatures will stay warm during the overnight hours, only falling into the upper 40s for lows.
8-Day Forecast
The work week will certainly start off on a warmer note. Temperatures will surge up to 60°+ by midday, ahead of a strong cold front. The front looks to sweep through the WNY region by the early afternoon. The timing of the front is important, as it could stir up some active convection. It looks like the timing of the front is more favorable to stir up active convection in central and eastern NY, which bodes well for WNY. Temperatures rapidly lose through their warmth through the rest of the day and into the overnight hours.
We are brought back down to reality on Tuesday morning, where temperatures are likely to start off in the upper 20s. For those of you who are heading to Innovative Field for the first Red Wings home game, you may want to break out the winter gear. Temperatures look to have a hard time breaking out of the 30s.
Rain looks to return to WNY Wednesday evening into Thursday. Temperatures get back into the 40s and then the 50s, but will be accompanied with wet weather. The end of the week looks to end on a dry note before wet weather looks to enter the region once again. ...read more read less
