RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The annual Sal Puentes baseball and Kristin Griego softball tournaments hosted by Rio Rancho High School wrapped on Saturday. The baseball final featured Cleveland and Carlsbad. The Storm jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning and Carlsbad was forced to pull its starting pitcher before the inning was over. From there, Cleveland was able to rack up a few more runs and hold on to a 7-4 victory. The softball championship was between La Cueva and Alamogordo. The Bears never trailed as they put up three runs in the first inning. The Tigers were held scoreless until the 4th inning when Khloe Lunar sent a two-run homer over the left field wall.
