90 shell casings found outside home after shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Midtown man said it took too long for officers to arrive as his home was being used for cover in an exchange of gunfire.
The shooting took place at an Airbnb moments after an argument during a large gathering early Saturday morning.
One man is now recovering at Regional One

"It just seems ridiculous you would need to wait five minutes, in my opinion," the homeowner said. "Even just five minutes from a phone call like that."
The Midtown homeowner is not sharing his identity, but said it took 20 to 30 minutes for officers to arrive.
Bullet holes could be seen through his gutters as he said his home was being used as cover during an overnight exchange of gunfire.

"I was sleeping on the sofa in the living room," the homeowner said. "It was only about 10 feet away from me in distance, so it was pretty loud."
Memphis Police said the shooting started at an Airbnb on Clark Place.
You can see the aftermath with multiple bullet holes on the door, siding and even broken glass.
Neighbors then said they saw four people get into a silver colored Nissan Altima or Maxima.
The vehicle then drove down Court and stopped at the intersection, where the exchange of gunfire continued until the shooters drove away.
"After the shooting, I saw all types of people fleeing and getting in cars and shouting," the homeowner said.
MPD searching for two homicide suspects
About 90 shell casings were recovered from the scene.
Officers said during the investigation that the garage and front door of the Airbnb. Blood was also visible on the bathroom floor.
A male victim drove himself to Regional One after shots rang out.
Airbnb sent out a statement that said in part: "We share the Memphis community’s outrage over this senseless gun violence, and hope the victim makes a swift recovery. Unauthorized and disruptive parties are banned on Airbnb, and our Safety team has taken initial action to remove the booking guest from the platform."
"I don't know what would be the appropriate stopgap to keep kids from renting these things for parties that are you know, insane," the homeowner said.
While the homeowner said he respects and even uses short-term rentals, this incident makes him question his future in the neighborhood.
"It makes you wonder if you should stay," he said.
