ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — When most folks think about some of the best pizza (in New York State, at least), they likely think of the classic large, thin, and foldable slices from the Big Apple. Well, in a twist, NYC did not take the cake (or, pizza pie in this case, I suppose) for best pizza cit y in the nation. In fact, it ranked No. 8! So, which U.S. city took the top spot? The answer is Rochester, according to a new report from Clever, an online data compiling and real estate website. Clever Real Estate put together this year's list using several factors, including the number of pizza restaurants, the average price, Google searches (which helps determine what Clever calls its "Pizza Passion Score"), and the perceived quality of pizza from a poll that included 2,000 Americans. Three local restaurants compete in NY Best Burger Competition According to Clever, the Pizza Passion Score in Rochester was a whopping 98 out of 100. It also revealed that Rochester had more than 2x as many pizza restaurants per 100,000 residents. Rochester is one of four New York State cities that made the top 10. Buffalo hit No. 4 with a Pizza Passion Score of 100.
