Experts share tips at Western Mass Home and Garden Show
Mar 29, 2025
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Western Mass Home and Garden Show continues through the weekend, and those looking to make some home improvements took advantage of expert advice on Saturday.
Home improvement professionals filled the buildings of the Eastern States Exposition, advising home
owners on all things indoors and outdoors. The 70th Western Mass Home and Garden Show brings four full days of exhibition to West Springfield, showcasing everything from bathroom appliances and roofing to gardening, solar panels, and accessories.
Laughing Brook Wildlife Sanctuary to undergo restoration efforts
The show provides a friendly, interactive environment to explore product lines and connect with contractors who could work on their next project. These contractors and industry professionals say 2025 brings new trends in many areas of home improvement, like yards, kitchens, and bathrooms.
"They're looking for a lot of age-in-place solutions for their bathrooms," said Lori Loughlin, regional showroom manager of F.W. Webb. "Walk-in showers, they're taking their tubs out."
And show vendors helped guide attendees in the right direction, understanding that it can be difficult to know where to start.
"Make sure that you get yourself a good contractor, somebody that's licensed, somebody that's insured, somebody that has equipment to really be able to pull off the project," said Steve Vaiano, owner of In The Green Gardens Inc.
"You're always gonna wanna get three estimates to do your due diligence," said Ken Pooler, owner of Home City Roofing. "And you wanna look for different things, like maybe granules in your gutter system."
But no matter the project, experts say the most important thing is to plan ahead.
"Anyone who plans way ahead of time, the project always goes smoother, it goes on budget, you get what you want," said Andrew Crane, Executive Director of the Homebuilders and Remodelers Association. "By coming here, you'll see different types of projects, pictures, maybe it'll even be a display."
So if you're hoping to get inspiration for your next remodel, or thinking about one for the future, you can visit the show's final day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
