SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Savannah native and Louisiana State University star Flau'Jae Johnson is quote "good to go," according to head coach Kim Mulkey. Johnson will play in the Regional Final on Sunday against No. 1 seed UCLA in Spokane, Wash.
There were concerns about her status after she was h
urt in the fourth quarter of the win against North Carolina State on Friday.
Flau'Jae said N.C. State player Zoe Brooks' elbow hit her in the eye. She said she was trying to go back in the game but did not because she was seeing double.
After the game, KOIN in Portland said Flau'Jae was very emotional and walked out of the locker room with a boot and did not meet with the media.
Flau'Jae did speak with the press on March 29 and it sounds like she is ready for Sunday.
"You can't make up for a game when it's already done," Johnson said. "You just got to go to the next game. That's why I say it's not about me. I got to lead. If my shot ain’t falling, I got to lead in other ways.
"In the pros, they have seven-game series. One dude might have a bad game one game. Come back, have a great game. But I'm not going to go out there and try to be Superman because I had a bad game yesterday. No, we’re going to play the same, we are going to play our ball and we are going to win like that."
