Barrio Azteca gang member arrested on warrants, drug charge

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A reputed Barrio Azteca gang member was arrested on three criminal warrants on Friday morning, March 28 in Socorro and is now facing a new charge of possession of heroin, according to the El Paso County Constable's Office for Precinct No. 6.
Angel Hernandez Jr., 46, ha
d prior criminal warrants for two counts of possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest or detention with a previous conviction, all totaling up to a $300,000 bond.
When Hernandez was arrested by constable deputies, an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance (heroin) was added with a $5,000 bond, according to the Constable's Office.
At 9:35 a.m. on March 28, constable deputies arrived at a residence at the 100 block of Escudo Road in Socorro and arrested Hernandez, according to the Constable's Office.
According to the Constable's Office, a search was conducted on Hernandez and deputies found heroin on his person.
The Constable's Office also said that Hernandez is a Barrio Azteca gang member.
Deputies used a field-testing kit to confirm that the substance found on Hernandez was heroin.
He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on the three original criminal warrants along with the new charge of possession of a controlled substance. ...read more read less
