Aurora police have surrounded a townhome where they say a person who fled from Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies Saturday morning is barricaded.
The incident started at about 7:24 a.m. when deputies tried to stop a suspected stolen vehicle near Parker Road and Mississippi Avenue, according
to sheriff’s office spokesperson John Bartmann and an ACSO social media post.
The vehicle sped away and crashed. Deputies arrested a female passenger, and the male driver ran into the nearby Raintree East townhome complex, where police believe he had broken into a residence and barricaded himself by 9 a.m.
Aurora Police Department spokesperson Sydney Edwards said residents near the townhome in the 9900 block of East Evans Avenue have been ordered to shelter in place.
