One dead, another arrested following Lower 9th Ward crash

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — One person is dead and another has been arrested following a car crash that happened in the Lower 9th Ward on Saturday morning, March 29.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, around 6:19 a.m., an individual was traveling at a high rate of speed near St. Claude Av
enue and Sister Street, before hitting an impact attenuator.
Police say they were investigating a bomb scare on Bourbon Street in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 29.
A woman was then reportedly ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on scene. The suspect who was arrested in connection to the incident is a known male, although his identity has not been released.
