Indiana Valor Women’s tackle football team INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — In celebration of Women’s History Month, WISH-TV is highlighting Indiana Valor women’s tackle football team, which is gearing up to make history of their own as they prepare for their first game. Dr. Kim McElroy-Jones, t he team’s president of football operations is is excited to show off the team, “We’ve been building a fantastic team with a roster of over 45 women, all of whom are ready to hit the field for the Women’s Football Alliance. We’re incredibly excited to get the season started!” Valor’s first home game is May 17. Many of the women on the team have been passionate about football for years, but they never had an outlet to play until now. “We’re here to give them that opportunity, and hopefully, inspire the next generation of women to follow in our footsteps,” cornerback Madeline Aul said. “It’s been a great experience! It’s been really rewarding working alongside the coaches and players, and we’re excited to form a strong, competitive team for the spring season.” The Women’s Football Alliance is a national league that competes across the country and is supported by several organizations, Jones said. “It’s 11-on-11 football with full gear, just like the men’s game.
