CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WGHP) — A shooting at a truck stop in Virginia left two deputies injured and the suspect dead. On Friday, Greensboro police contacted the Carroll County Sheriff's Office about a suspect in a Greensboro shooting who was potentially at a truck stop in the Carroll County area . Virginia State Police say the suspect was also wanted in Maryland. Deputies found the suspect in a Swift tractor-trailer in the parking lot of a Love's Truck Stop off Interstate 77, Exit 1, in the Lambsburg area. When the suspect, Edmond Johnson, 29, of Louisiana, got out of the tractor-trailer, he reportedly exchanged gunfire with deputies. During the confrontation, Johnson and two deputies were hit by gunfire. Johnson was killed. The deputies were taken to the hospital.
