Greensboro shooting suspect killed in truck stop shootout with Virginia deputies; 2 deputies shot

CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WGHP) — A shooting at a truck stop in Virginia left two deputies injured and the suspect dead.
On Friday, Greensboro police contacted the Carroll County Sheriff's Office about a suspect in a Greensboro shooting who was potentially at a truck stop in the Carroll County area
. Virginia State Police say the suspect was also wanted in Maryland.
Deputies found the suspect in a Swift tractor-trailer in the parking lot of a Love's Truck Stop off Interstate 77, Exit 1, in the Lambsburg area.
When the suspect, Edmond Johnson, 29, of Louisiana, got out of the tractor-trailer, he reportedly exchanged gunfire with deputies.
During the confrontation, Johnson and two deputies were hit by gunfire. Johnson was killed. The deputies were taken to the hospital.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says the two deputies are in stable condition but did not provide any additional information. ...read more read less
