FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Coca-Cola employees will now return to work after a three-week strike led by the Teamsters Local 414.

oca-Cola facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, went on strike after they said the company proposed increasing health insurance costs, but refused to provide workers with information about the increased cost.

Teamsters Local 414, while on strike, engaged in negotiations with Coca-Cola where they proposed a final offer of 1-cent per hour minimum wage increase over years two, three and four of employment. Union members rejected this proposal unanimously, according to Local 414 leadership.
Saturday, Teamster 414 held a meeting where a new contract was ratified following discussion with the union and Coca-Cola representatives.
In the ratified contract, the Teamsters Local 414 union asked for an increase in wages, and a 4-year cap on healthcare costs.
"We are satisfied with the contract," said Ehren Gerdes, President of Teamsters Local 414. "It moves Coke forward to meet the other area standards of the other beverage companies." ...read more read less
