CMPD is investigating a deadly crash after an 18-year-old driving a dirt bike was killed in west Charlotte. It happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night on Brookshire Boulevard near Oakdale Road. When police arrived, they say a damaged dirt bike and an unresponsive rider, 18-year-old Jermaine Holly, was in the roadway. A damaged Toyota SUV was located nearby. Holly was transported to Atrium Health where he was pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation said that Holly was driving his dirt bike without lights on Brookshire Boulevard and that he struck a Toyota SUV turning onto Oakdale Road. Holly was also not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said. The Toyota driver, 52-year-old Marlen Morrow, was not injured nor impaired.
