Mar 29, 2025
Extended Housing, Inc. recently announced it received a $50,000 grant from the Jerome T. Osborne and Georgeanne S. Osborne Charitable Trust to address the overall primary needs of the Extended Housing Wellness Center.
In 2012, Extended Housing purchased the Hillside Professional Building located at
270 E. Main St. in Painesville. Over the last decade, the wellness center has grown as a collaboration of nonprofit organizations that focus on supporting and developing
community wellness, according to a news release.
These organizations include BRIDGES, Lake County Council on Aging, Frontline Services, Fine Arts Association and LGBTQ+ Allies Lake County.
“It’s a great honor to be chosen by the Osborne Charitable Trust for this generous gift that will allow us to provide a warm and comforting community room for our partner nonprofits to gather in solidarity,” Director Karen McLeod stated in the release.
The “Osborne Community Room” dedication will be held in the updated community room during their Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17. This also will be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the mission of Extended Housing from board members, constituents and staff who will be present and offering tours of the building, the release stated.
Extended Housing’s mission is to prevent and end homelessness for individuals in Lake County with serious mental illness. They receive funding and support from the Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board, which is responsible for planning, funding, and evaluating the county’s mental health and recovery services.
