ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) - A local 10-year-old has made it his mission to make sure every kid has the footwear they need to have fun playing sports.
Bentley Gerczak launched his nonprofit '23's Cleats 4 Kids' just over a year ago. He said he came up with the idea after he won a pair of cleats in
a raffle and decided to give those cleats to another kid. He said he saw the impact this had on the kid that received the cleats and wanted to continue giving back this way.
"It makes me really happy to know that they're going to have a ton of fun with just a simple pair of cleats," Bentley told Local 5 News on Friday night. "It's exciting because I get to see kids succeed with the shoes that I provide them."

Bentley was at the Green Bay Blizzard's game on Friday night at the Resch Center. He was able to collect dozens of cleats for his organization from people who came out to the game.
Bentley has teamed up with local artist Zane Statz who designed cleats that several players and the Blizzard's head coach wore at the game Friday night. They auctioned off the shoes at the game and all the money they raised will go to Bentley's organization so they can continue to provide cleats for kids.
"I do a lot of painting in the footwear industry and it's cool to find something like this," Statz said. "And Bentley being so young and wanting to give back it's really cool and unique." ...read more read less
