Two Italian Village murder suspects plead guilty to lesser charges

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man who pleaded guilty to lesser charges in a 2023 Italian Village murder has been sentenced.
According to court records, Levander Davis will serve 7-9 years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence. Davi
s, along with De’Andre Davis, both 26, were accused of fatally shooting Roosevelt Carroll III at the intersection of Kerr Street and Warren Street on the night of July 4, 2023.
Witnesses identified both Levander and De’Andre Davis to police, who also connected the two with evidence from the scene. Police reported that there was a verbal altercation that escalated into shots being fired. Shell casings found at the scene indicate there may have been more than one gun involved.
A second victim, a 59-year-old man and Carroll's father, was also shot and treated at a hospital. For an earlier report on this story view the video player above.
Levander Davis was arrested in September 2023 and was originally charged with murder and attempted murder. He will also be subject to two-to-five years of community control upon his release from prison.
Likewise, De’Andre Davis pleaded guilty earlier this month to voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence after originally being charged with murder. He was sentenced to 6 to 7-and-a-half years in prison. ...read more read less
