NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Back in 2021 at a crime scene on North Saint Patrick Street, a coroner's office employee was recorded dragging a body bag out of a house and down steps. The woman who recorded this footage says she was stunned to see how little care was being taken with the victim's body. Folsom man found guilty of murdering 7-month-old son She tells WGNO that she originally chose not to share the video out of respect for the victim, but the video that was released on Thursday by Project Nola changed her mind. In this footage a coroner's office employee is seen dragging a body bag out of a house on Royal Street where a man had been murdered. Following the more recent incident, on Friday, Coroner Dwight McKenna apologized for the employee's behavior and fired him. "What can I say to an act so egregious as this? This is not the standards we uphold," McKenna said. Man arrested after 61-year-old found dead in Bywater We spoke to Metropolitan Crime Commission president Rafael Goyeneche, and he says while these incidents may be horrible, it's unlikely any criminal charges will be made. "That is unethical. It is unprofessional, and you can't be prosecuted for being unprofessional," Goyeneche said.
