Rain on Saturday, severe storms likely late Sunday
Mar 28, 2025
The forecast will turn active as we head into the weekend.
We’ll be breezy, cloudy, and very mild Friday night with temperatures only falling into the lower to mid 60s by sunrise. Scattered showers and storms will be increasing in coverage by Saturday morning.
SATURDAY: Skies will be cloudy
with areas of rain and periodic rumbles of thunder through at least mid-afternoon, but it looks like we'll quiet things down in the evening. Severe weather is not a concern. Highs in the mid 70s.
SUNDAY: The morning and afternoon hours will be dry. We will actually break out into sunshine at times, helping push temperatures up into the low 80s. That will add fuel to the atmosphere for storms to work with later on. Storms are expected to develop after sunset, coming to an end before sunrise on Monday morning. While all storms will not be severe, a few may reach severe limits with a threat for damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. All of the Mid-South is under an "Enhanced Risk" (Level 3/5) for severe weather.
