KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a shooting Friday night that left one person dead. The shooting was reported just after 8:30 p.m. in the area of Elma Street and Park Avenue. When KCPD officers arrived on scene they found a man lying in the roadway suffe ring from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the incident is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody at this time. Preliminary investigation revealed an interaction in the street between multiple individuals that led to the shooting, according to KCPD.
