75acre wildfire near Wintergreen now uncontained after it was reported contained on Thursday

NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The wildfire near Wintergreen that was reportedly contained on Thursday night is now uncontained as of Friday afternoon, according to an alert sent by the resort.
In an alert sent at 4:40 p.m. on Friday, March 28, Wintergreen reported that the official status of the Gla
ss Hollow Fire that was reported near the resort in the afternoon of Thursday, March 27, is now uncontained.
According to a real-time fire map from the Virginia Department of Forestry, as of 5:45 p.m. on Friday, the fire had grown to 75 acres in size. It is marked as 50% contained.
"Although we still don't believe there is any significant threat to Wintergreen, it should be noted that fully containing the Glass Hollow Fire has been more difficult than anticipated," Wintergreen said in its alert on Friday.
According to Wintergreen, the wildfire is located about four miles from the resort.

On Thursday, Wintergreen reported that there was a 10-acre wildfire located five miles north of the resort, and east of the Humpback Rocks hiking area near milepost seven of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
At 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, the fire reportedly spanned 3 acres across Nelson and Augusta counties, and at around 10 p.m., it was reported to have been contained.
Wintergreen residents and guests are advised to monitor Alert Wintergreen messages and be prepared to leave the area if requested.
Due to the elevated fire risk, the use of outdoor recreational fire pits at Wintergreen will not be allowed this weekend, according to the resort. ...read more read less
