CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Three men are facing charges after three separate narcotics investigations in Cranston, according to authorities.
Cranston Police Chief Michael Winquist announced their arrests Friday in hopes of "sending a strong message that illegal drug activity will not be tolerated.
"
"If you engage in drug trafficking in our community, we will find you, and we will hold you accountable," Winquist said.
Drugs discovered at homeless encampment

Donald Iasimone, 40, was taken into custody last week after investigators received word about drugs being sold out of an homeless encampment in the city.
Winquist said officer searched the homeless encampment, located off of Plainfield Pike near I-295, on March 19 and found crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, two BB guns, a knife, roughly $443 in cash and 30 stolen shopping carts from Walmart.
Iasimone has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver narcotics, two counts of carrying a weapon while committing a crime of violence and receiving stolen goods.
Officer uncovers hidden cocaine during traffic stop
Teddy Lopez, 21, was arrested Thursday morning after an officer pulled him over for not wearing his seat belt.

Winquist said the officer stopped Lopez at the intersection of Park and Reservoir avenues and uncovered a "substantial amount of illegal narcotics" inside a hidden compartment.
Specifically, the officer found 11 kilograms of cocaine, 2.2 grams of fentanyl powder, 11 pressed fentanyl pills, 10 ounces of various types of marijuana and $1,700 in cash. Winquist estimated that the drugs have a street value of approximately $385,000.
Lopez has been charged with possession with intent to deliver more than 1 kilogram of cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to deliver narcotics under 10 grams and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
Detectives find 2K+ fentanyl pills in man's home
Jerry Taylor, 27, was arrested Thursday after detectives discovered thousands of fentanyl pills and other drugs while searching his Cranston home.

Winquist said detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant at Taylor's Cutting Avenue apartment and found 2,500 pressed fentanyl pills, 16 grams of a fentanyl powder, 16.6 grams of pressed methamphetamine pills and 16.6 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, as well as an unidentified powder and various drug packaging materials.
Taylor has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver narcotics and two counts of possession of more than 10 grams of narcotics.
