PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Bridge and pier demolition work will temporarily close Gano Street at the I-195 overpass this weekend.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) said the closures will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday to help keep noise levels down at night.

Drivers and pedestrians should follow posted detour signs.
For about two weeks after the weekend closures, RIDOT said there will be alternating single-lane closures from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Gano Street. The road will not be closed to pedestrians.
The on-ramp from Gano Street to I-195 West will remain open throughout the demolition work.
RIDOT said there will also be right and center lane closures along I-195 East from Exit 1A to Exit 1B/C from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. March 23–27 and March 30–April 3 while crews work on the Structural Health Monitoring System.
