NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Rain will be spreading into the area from the west on Friday night, but weakening as it does so.
Look for showers and storms to move across the area as you go into the early morning hours on Saturday through about 7 or 8 a.m. After that, it looks like we have a break in the
rainfall for a few hours through the rest of the morning.
By afternoon showers and storms begin to redevelop across the area, although not necessarily for everybody. These will be more hit or miss but could produce locally strong wind gusts, and locally heavy downpours.
Rain tapers off late Saturday afternoon into the evening as we dry out for Saturday night. Expect a warm day with low 80s on Sunday with isolated showers and storms by the afternoon again. It looks like the next front moves in early Monday morning.
We do have a low end severe weather threat with that system, although most of the activity probably stays northeast of our area. Still though, be aware of potential storms with severe weather early Monday.
