LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Kam Williams, a rising sophomore from Tulane, is a Kentucky Wildcat after committing to Mark Pope out of the transfer portal, per ESPN. Williams averaged over nine points per game, shot just over 40 percent from deep and almost 50 percent from the field this past s eason with the Green Wave. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Several experts regard Williams as one of the top shooters in this year’s transfer portal class. He was pursued by Florida, Louisville, Baylor, Texas, LSU, Texas Tech, Arkansas and USC according to ESPN. The Lafayette, Louisiana product made it to the American Athletic Conference semifinals with his previous team this past season. Tulane finished 19-14 overall.
