OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- City officials in Overland Park say the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is dealing with a recent trespassing situation.
Now, the Overland Park Police Department is investigating what took place, and staff say they're thankful the incident wasn’t worse.
This comes as
the start of a new season for the Children’s Farmstead is next week, on April 1.
"We are prepping for opening day of the season, very excited for that,” Morgan Stoyanov, Deputy Director of Communications for the City of Overland Park said.

Staff say the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead is a safe place, and they want to keep it that way.
“From our security footage, we can see that at about 9:45 p.m. on March 22nd, two individuals entered the Farmstead,” she added.
The two took items from the general store before leaving the premises.
Stoyanov says items that were taken included typical things that would be at the general store, like candy and stuffed animals, items a family would take home after a fun day at the Farmstead.
While there was no physical damage to the property and no one was hurt, a police report was made.
"We are grateful that this incident wasn't any worse than it was. All the animals are safe, and the facility is in good shape,” Stoyanov shared.
It’s unclear how old these two were or how they entered the facility. Police did not share a description of who may be responsible or additional details.
