INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indy hit its first 80 degree day of 2025! This fabulous warm air came with a strong push of wind from the south that gusted over 40 MPH at times.
On and off activity is ahead this weekend with the potential f
or severe weather Sunday.
Friday night: Increasing clouds tonight with breezy winds hanging around. Lows will fall into the upper 50s to low 60s.
Saturday: Showers will gradually build in coverage Saturday afternoon and night. Can’t rule out a few showers Saturday morning. Widespread showers are expected by the nighttime hours.
Highs will be warm once again with numbers in the low 70s. Winds are also going to gust to 20-30 MPH.
Sunday: Be weather aware Sunday afternoon and night as we track the threat for strong to severe storms. There could be some early day showers and storms, which would hinder the severe threat if they materialize and hang around longer. Nonetheless, there could be some discrete cells ahead of a squall line. The squall line will slide in closer to the nighttime hours.
There is an Enhanced Risk (level 3/5) of severe weather across much of the state. Wind is the primary concern, but isolated tornadoes and large hail are also possible. The potential is also there for some significant severe weather. Have multiple ways of receiving warnings, download the StormTrack 8 weather app, and revise your safety plan.
Highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.
7-Day Forecast: We look to briefly drop temperatures back into the 50s by the last day of March on Monday. Temperatures ramp back up to near 70 Wednesday with additional rain and storm chances. There is also a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather already for next Wednesday. We’ll dive more into that as we get into early next week.
