EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) will conduct fire hydrant maintenance and flushing this weekend. This operation will be done from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30 in the Santa Teresa area. Courtesy of CRRUA The goal is to make sure that hydrants operate properly, CRRUA said. Adjacent areas may also be impacted, said the utility which provides water and wastewater service in Sunland Park and Santa Teresa. Water service will not be interrupted; however, water discoloration could occur as a result of these actions, CRRUA said. "Although the water is safe to drink, CRRUA recommends waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear," a news release said. The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours.
