With the WRIC+ smart TV app, you can now livestream 8News broadcasts -- and replays -- local programming and exclusive digital content. The app is free to download a
nd available on the following platforms:
Roku
Amazon Fire TV
Apple TV
Certain videos will be available on-demand, including top stories from reporters, multiple daily weather updates from StormTracker8 meteorologists and WRIC NOW livestreams and podcasts.
Getting WRIC+ on your TV or Streaming Device
Streaming TV channels are also called apps and they need to be downloaded and installed onto your smart TV or streaming device, such as an auxiliary input attached Roku stick, Amazon Fire TV stick, etc. Below are instructions on how to get WRIC+ added to watch free anytime.
Roku
On a Roku TV or a TV with a Roku stick, press the Home button on your remote control, then select Streaming Channels to open the store. Next, search for “WRIC” and press ‘Add Channel.’
Fire TV
On an Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV stick, from the home screen, navigate to the magnifying glass icon at the top left of the screen. Search for “WRIC,” select the app, and hit download to install it. Watch this instructional video to walk you through it:
Apple TV
From the home screen, select App Store, then navigate to the magnifying glass icon at the top right of the screen. Search for “WRIC,” select the app, and hit download to install it.
