HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The countywide temporary burn ban issued to Henrico County residents has now been, according to the Henrico County Division of Fire.
On Wednesday, March 26, a temporary burn ban was put into effect for residents of Henrico County -- as of today, March 28, the ban has
been lifted.
"The Henrico County burn ban, which applied to all open-air burning at all times, is no longer in place," Assistant Chief and Fire Marshall Scott Sutton said. "However, the Department of Forestry's annual statewide burn law remains effective until April 30 and states that open-air burning is only permitted between 4 p.m. and midnight."
This means that the burning of yard waste, recreational fires and agricultural burns are only allowed between the hours of 4 p.m. and midnight, in alignment with the Virginia Department of Forestry.
“Even under the most favorable conditions, outdoor fires have inherent risks," said Sutton. "If you’re burning outside, keep a garden hose close by and never leave the fire unattended.” ...read more read less
