Luxury properties i
n Old Metairie continue to perform well in the New Orleans real estate market, particularly newer homes.
“Old Metairie continues to be desirable with its blend of luxury, convenience, and community,” said Tracy Mason, of McCarthy Group Realtors. Mason was the listing agent for the sale of 225 Rosewood Dr., which sold for $1.27 million on March 21. April Brown, of Hospitality Realty, was the sales agent.
“225 Rosewood is a stunning, newer five-bedroom home in the sought-after Crestmont Park subdivision,” said Mason. “The proximity to playgrounds, shopping, dining, schools, churches, is always a plus, and you have access to Metairie Road, Airline, Causeway, and the interstate, which makes commuting easy for desirable buyers.”
The home was constructed in 2008 by LHC Builders, which specializes in new construction across Old Metairie. The home features 5 bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms, and 3,808 square feet of living space on a lot of 5,370 square feet.
“It has great curb appeal. It was turnkey, move-in ready, and beautiful as soon as you enter the door,” said Brown.
“It’s a nice-sized lot with the space to add a pool in the backyard, and the whole home has a great mix of new and reclaimed pieces, giving it a sense of warmth throughout the entire space.”
The foyer leads to a versatile office or living room. The formal dining room, expansive kitchen, breakfast areas, and den (with a gas fireplace) are ideal for hosting and gatherings. A bonus room off the den offers flexible use as an office, playroom, or nook. The chef’s kitchen features marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, a pot filler, walk-in pantry, and a butler’s pantry with a wine cooler. The first floor also includes a powder room and oversized garage.
Outside enables a mix of indoor-outdoor living with a covered porch. There is a landscaped backyard, with space for a pool. The primary suite is upstairs and includes a marble bath, separate tub and shower, private water closet, and two walk-in closets. Four additional bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large laundry room complete the second floor.
“The design is sophisticated with modern and practical amenities, and the floor plan is impressive,” said Mason. “You have many flexible spaces and versatile rooms, combined with the perfect flow for entertainment throughout the first floor. It really suits any family’s lifestyle.”
The neighborhood offers tennis/pickleball courts, walking paths, a dog park, playgrounds, and recreational sports at nearby Pontiff Playground.
“Old Metairie continues to be a sound investment for people looking to reside in vibrant communities that are 10-15 minutes from anywhere in the city. 225 Rosewood was a great opportunity and perfect fit for my clients,” said Brown.
