Bigger Picture Show showcasing local designers
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indy Film Fest and Lodge Design are hosting the 15th annual Bigger Picture Show on Friday night at the Schwitzer Gallery in Indianapolis.
The Bigger Picture Show is a one-night-only event where attendees can view and bi
d on more than 120 movie posters featuring original artwork from the city’s top artists and designers. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit Indy Film Fest.
This year’s theme, “Face Off!”, celebrates film’s greatest rivals, adversaries, and frenemies. Featured foes include Buzz and Woody, Elphaba and Glinda, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, Harry Potter and Voldemort, and Tom and Jerry.
Local artist Lucas Tetreault created a sci-fi poster inspired by “The Matrix” for the Bigger Picture Show. He says the event offers something for everyone.
“The variety of artists and the variety of posters presented at the show kind of lend themselves to everybody that shows up,” Tetreault said. “If you’re somebody who loves Disney, or you love fancy hand-drawn artwork and everything, this is it. If you like sci-fi, I’ve got the piece for you. If you like horror, there are horror posters there, too. Lots of great stuff at the show.”
