Sex offender admits to rape of 2 minor victims in Wyoming County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A level two registered sex offender, previously of the Village of Perry in Wyoming County, admitted to raping two young victims in the county in recent years, according to the Wyoming County District Attorney's Office.
Jonathon Bucknam, 45, pleaded guilty to two counts of
third-degree rape.
In January of 2022, Bucknam engaged in sexual intercourse with a minor less than 17-years-old in the Village of Perry. He committed the same crime in the same place with a different minor victim in February 2023.
Bucknam, a level two sex offender, was previously convicted of third-degree rape in 2017.
He faces up to four years in prison and five to 15 years of post-release supervision on each count. Bucknam is currently being held without bail awaiting sentencing.
