‘Mercy’ singer Duffy seen for the first time since kidnapping claims
Mar 28, 2025
Duffy, the singer best known for the 2008 hit “Mercy,” made her first public-facing appearance this week since she claimed more than five years ago that she’d been kidnapped, raped and “held captive” for days.
The 40-year-old Grammy-winning Welsh singer appeared briefly in a TikTok video
posted by the group E.motion, featuring an electronic remix of her hit song.
”Some of you asked if Duffy was really doing a UK Garage remix with us…” the group wrote.

She did not provide any details on the person behind her alleged kidnapping and assault.
Following that post, Duffy remained largely mum until this time last year, when she shared another since-deleted post: an animated video that spoke about happiness and self-love.
“A little something to motivate the heart,” she captioned the clip at the time.
Prior to her hiatus, Duffy’s music was featured in films like “Bride Wars” and shows including “Dancing with the Stars,” “Entourage” and “Glee.” ...read more read less
