Teens Referred for Attempted Robbery Outside Lincoln High

Lincoln Police cruiser. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Mar. 27)–A fight and attempted robbery involving four teens outside of Lincoln High on Thursday afternoon resulting in three of them being taken to the Lancaster County Youth Services Center.
Lincoln Police say that the Lincoln High sch
ool resource officer was alerted by school staff to a fight between the teens, three of whom do not attend the school. During the fight, one of the teens tried to steal the victim’s backpack. A school staff member was able to wrestle the backpack away from the group of teens.
LPD says information from a witness indicated that one of the teens was seen with a handgun during the fight. The school resource officer arrived and saw the three teens leaving campus. A foot chase ensued and all three teens, a 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds, were captured near 18th and “G” Street.
Officers found the handgun in question, which was tossed by one of the teens during the pursuit and it was a replica BB gun with the appearance of a real firearm. All three teens were taken to the Youth Services Center and each were lodged for attempted robbery.
