What Wichita is doing to stay out of Stage 3 of drought plan
The scholarships, sponsored by the Rudd Foundation, remove financial barriers to a college education. Chosen scholars are expected to achieve a high level of excellence on campus. They will receive mentoring and success coaching to help them graduate in four years. After graduation, they will help the next generation of scholars.
"Leslie Rudd’s dream was to see what a young person with work ethic and determination can achieve when the financial burden of college is removed," Darrell Swank, Rudd Foundation president, said in a news release. "He believed in giving a hand up, not a handout, and we are honored to support these outstanding students as they pursue their education and contribute to their communities."
“This scholarship is more than just financial support — it’s an opportunity for these students to thrive in a community built on mentorship, coaching, and a network of lifelong connections," said Bobby Gandu, WSU associate vice president of strategic enrollment management. "Thanks to the Rudd Foundation’s generosity, our scholars can focus on their academic and professional ambitions without the burden of debt.”
