OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson III is calling for a district judge to resign after he says the judge tried to have him arrested last year. In a three-minute video posted to social media on Wednesday, Johnson accused Oklahoma County District Judge Amy Palumbo of tr ying to hold him in contempt and have him arrested for noise in the hallway of the county courthouse on April 17, 2024. "As law enforcement and as officers of the court, we must be held to a higher standard," Johnson said. "When the authority that we are trusted with is abused, it stains the entire judicial system. Those who abuse their authority must be held accountable. I am calling for Judge Palumbo to step down. She has proven herself not worthy of the position she holds." Johnson says Palumbo was disciplined after he filed a complaint with the court, and now wants her to step down.
