INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana has yet to enter the zone of higher rain and storm probabilities with much warmer air in line.
Expect on-and-off waves of showers and storms along with monitoring a threat for strong to severe storms
Sunday.
Thursday night: We’ll see shower coverage ramp up through early Friday morning. Some heavy downpours and rumbles of thunder will be in the mix. We cannot rule out some instances of small hail, but severe weather is not expected.
Lows look to drop into the upper 40s to low 50s.
Friday: Showers will continue in more scattered fashion, especially north of I-70, past daybreak. By the afternoon, we’ll dry out and even work in some sunshine. A breezy wind out of the south will also take shape.
Highs are set to push close to record territory with numbers in the mid to upper 70s. Winds will also gust from 30-40 mph at times. People going to Lucas Oil Stadium at night for the NCAA men’s basketball Sweet Sixteen Midwest Regional, the weather will be pleasant, minus the stronger winds.
Saturday: The chance for on-and-off showers is expected with more widespread consolidated activity potentially pushing in at night.
Highs will still be on the warmer side with breezy winds hanging around.
7-Day Forecast: More in the way of on-and-off activity is in store for Sunday, but this time we’ll have to watch for the threat of strong to severe storms. The timing of this possible threat will be Sunday afternoon and night. Wind is the main concern, but all hazards are possible. Expect a set of more fine-tuned details on Sunday’s severe risk over the next 24-48 hours. Highs briefly will drop back into the 50s by the end of March on Monday before we soar back to near 70 by the first couple of days of April next week.
