Temperatures rose to 60° this afternoon in Fort Wayne. Some periods of rain have moved in, mainly south of Fort Wayne and this evening chance of scattered rain will continue through 11 pm before a break develops. Overnight temperatures fall to the upper 40s.
Temps drop from the 50s into the 40s
tonight.
Our highest chance of rain and t-storms tomorrow happens in the morning before chances decrease in the early afternoon. The afternoon will have plenty of dry, warm times with highs in the 70s for the first time this week. It will be windy with occasional gusts as highs as 45-50 mph by later in the afternoon and evening.
Our sky becomes mainly clear Friday night and the warm air keeps flowing in from the southwest. The high gusts will subside, but we stay breezy with SW winds between 10 and 20 mph expected. Temperatures fall significantly from our highs in the 70s, but conditions stay much warmer than is common for late March. Low temps into Saturday morning will only fall to the mid-50s.
This will set the stage for more warmth on Saturday, with additional periods of rain and t-storms possible throughout the day. These chances of rain exist from morning till night. However, there will be many dry times. For much of the day, the rain will be scattered. The highest, and most widespread, rain/storm chances come from mid-afternoon through the evening.
Rainfall totals are relatively light from tonight through Sunday morning. But, don't forget, more rain falls later in the day Sunday into Monday and we could get some heavy downpours during that time to increase our rain totals as the new week begins.
Sunday is another warm day that carries a rain and storm chance. A powerful cold front will be moving through the area and some strong, gusty t-storms are possible. The highest storm chances come after 8 at night and continue into early Monday morning as the cold front marches through.
Behind the front comes a blast of much colder air, so you'll have to drag the coat back out Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 40s. By Wednesday, though, we're back in the 60s.
