Investigation underway after some Andrews High School students report feeling ill

ANDREWS, S.C. (WCBD) – An investigation is underway to determine what made some students report feeling ill while at a Georgetown County school this week.
District officials said a student at Andrews High School reported feeling sick Wednesday and was taken by EMS to Tidelands Health.

Kibler, the school district’s executive director for communications, said other students also reported symptoms.
The school’s nurse and School Resource Officer were immediately notified, and parents of each student who exhibited symptoms were contacted by the school nurse, encouraging them to have their child evaluated by a physician.
“Georgetown County School District prioritizes the health and safety of all students,” said Kibler.
The school district’s safety department, the Andrews High School administration, and the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating the cause. ...read more read less
