ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) -- The Buffalo Bills aren't just taking the field this year -- they're going to be taking over your holiday movie nights as well.
On Thursday, Hallmark announced the Bills will be featured in a new Christmas movie in a few months. Fans are already buzzing at the news.
"There are so many Hallmark movie fans and then you multiply that by Bills fans," said Kristen Kimmick, founder of Bills Mafia Babes. "This is a big deal for us."
"My in-laws are super big fans of the Hallmark movies so I'm sure that I'll wind up catching it," said Bills fan Jake Jaroszewski. "They are some interesting movies to say the least, so we'll see how they wind up turning out. It'll be exciting to actually see one I can care about."
The exact playbook for the movie is still under wraps. But if you ask Bills Mafia, they've got plenty of ideas for the big screen.
"I think it would be really neat to see a love story between two fans," said Kimmick. "Starting at a tailgate, going into a game, and just kind of following a fan perspective on it."
Others have no idea what the plot could be.
"If it's anything like the Bills, it would be heartbreaking and sad most of the time," said Jaroszewski. "But maybe more hopeful toward now."
If it were up to the fans, they'd draft the entire roster for this movie. But there are a few fan favorites they'd love to see such as Dawson Knox, Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, and, of course, Josh Allen.
"I think they're going to miss their opportunity if they don't put Hailee Steinfeld in there with Josh," said Kimmick. "Those are the two main ones that would need to be in there."
Regardless of who ends up making an appearance in the film or what the plot shapes up to be, fans are excited that both Buffalo and the Bills are getting the attention they deserve.
"It's great for the Buffalo Bills to get some recognition," said Bills fan Michele Zurbrick. "They've done very well the last few years, and I think their time is coming."
Production on the movie will kick off later this year and it will film entirely at locations in and around Buffalo -- including Highmark Stadium. The movie will air as part of the Hallmark Channel's 2025 Countdown to Christmas.
