Skateboarding icon Ryan Sheckler heads to Woodward Park City
Mar 27, 2025
Woodward Park City announced it will host skateboarding legend Ryan Sheckler for a week-long summer camp from June 23-27. The program will offer young athletes instruction and facilities under the guidance of one of skateboarding’s most influential figures. “Woodward has been part of my journey
since I was 7 years old, and I’m passionate about creating authentic, memorable experiences for the next generation of skaters,” Sheckler said. “This summer camp program embodies everything I believe in — progression, community and the pure joy of skateboarding.” The five-day camp will make use of Woodward Park City’s facilities, including concrete parks, pump tracks and mini ramps, in order to provide campers with a comprehensive training environment, the park said, adding that campers will have specialized coaching that emphasizes essential skills, progression and safety. “Ryan’s involvement as our Skateboarding Program Designer across all of Woodward’s camps has elevated our curriculum to new heights,” said Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson, president of Woodward. “His approach to mentorship and progression aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire and empower young athletes.” Gar Trayner, Generag manager of Woodward Park City, said Sheckler’s return to Woodward Park City marks a significant milestone the park’s summer programming. “His presence and coaching at WWPC in June will provide invaluable experiences that will motivate and inspire the next generation of skateboarders,” Trayner said. The program is open to skaters ages 7-17 of all skill levels. Daily sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with early drop off available), featuring personalized instruction, skill development workshops and opportunities to learn directly from Sheckler himself. Camp registration is now open, and the camp has special pricing for Woodward Park City members that starts at $499 per week, the park said. Non-member pricing starts at $649 per week. Space is limited because the park wants to ensure optimal coaching ratios and personalized attention, Woodward said. For more information or to register, visit woodwardparkcity.com.
