FOSTER, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after the remains of a woman were found in a wooded area off Plainfield Pike in Foster. Rhode Island State Police said the woman's age and identity were unknown as of Thursday, but the circumstances surrounding her death are considered suspicious. Police had the area blocked off Wednesday night and were seen collecting evidence. Investigators returned to the scene Thursday morning with K-9 units. Police were also seen flying drones over the area.
