MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The MALCO Summer Drive-In, the city's only drive-in movie theater, is up for sale.
The 31-acre property at 5310 Summer Avenue near Interstate 40 is listed by Michael Lightman Realty, part of the same family that owns the theater. The property is assessed at $330,760.
The Sum
mer Drive-In was opened in 1948 by Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson, and moved to its current location in 1966. In recent years, it has been home to the Time Warp Drive-In film series.
Former Railgarten site up for sale
MALCO's website says the theater is scheduled to reopen in mid-April. With the property listed for sale, it is uncertain whether it will open.
