MEQUON, Wis. (WFRV) - On Thursday morning, officers were called to a southeastern Wisconsin Walgreens to investigate a bomb threat that was called in by a person demanding money. According to the Mequon Police Department, an unknown man called the Walgreens on North Port Washington Road to demand money after he claimed to have placed a pipe bomb inside the store. Transportation Security Administration intercepts two firearms in one day at Appleton International Airport The call came in around 9:20 a.m. on March 27 from what officers described as a man with a "non-native English accent." Officers say the store was immediately evacuated, and the Cedarburg Police Department's EOD K-9 unit was called in to help clear the building. After a thorough search, no explosives were found, and the threat was determined to be a 'swatting type incident.' After all employees were interviewed and the scene was deemed safe, the Walgreens was allowed to reopen.
