Wisconsin DNR accepting applications for next class of conservation wardens

(WFRV) - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will begin accepting applications for the next class of conservation wardens from April 10 through May 6.
The agency expects to hire about 10 full-time wardens for the 2026 class. Successful applicants will begin law enforcement trainin
g in either January or April 2026, depending on experience.

DNR conservation wardens serve in both urban and rural areas across Wisconsin, enforcing laws that protect fish and wildlife, the environment, state parks, and outdoor recreation. They also educate the public on natural resources, outdoor safety, and conservation.
The DNR encourages applicants from all backgrounds, with no prior experience in law enforcement, hunting, fishing, or recreational vehicle operation required.

Applicants must meet minimum requirements and demonstrate skills such as strong communication, integrity, self-motivation, problem-solving, and a passion for protecting people and natural resources.
