Meddlesome Moth is also among the spots saying goodbye to Dallas this month In a fast-paced city like Dallas, restaurants come and go all the time. Know of a Dallas restaurant closure that’s not
on this list? Drop us a line at dallas@eater.com.
The Zodiac Room
The restaurant, along with the entire Neiman Marcus department store in Downtown Dallas, closes its doors on Monday, March 31, following a dispute between its parent company, Saks Global, and the landlord over rights to the land under the building. Although ladies who lunch have favored staying in Highland Park to do so for several years, but this iconic restaurant was the place to see and be seen (and to shop) in the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s. It remained a tradition to have lunch at the buffet in its later years, and the chicken consommé and strawberry popovers on the menu remain staples of fine dining cuisine in the city.

Meddlesome Moth
This gastropub, with its distinctive stained glass windows, will close at the end of March after 15 years in the Design District, the Dallas Morning News reports. The closure comes down to rent, co-owner Shannon Wynne said. HN Capital Partners, which owns some 40 acres of land in the Design District, negotiated with the restaurant and wants to increase the rent by 75 percent in total over time since it opened in 2010, Wynne said. Across from Meddlesome Moth are NYC-based Carbone and Vino. Arizona-founded restaurant Culinary Dropout recently opened in the Design District, and fine dining chain Delilah is expected to open a location there later this year.
Jasper’s
The final outpost of Jasper’s, a local chain of steakhouses created by Dallas chef Kent Rathbun in the 2000s, is closing its Richardson location, per a DMN report. No reason was given, but Jasper’s and chef Rathbun were part of the great steakhouse surge in Dallas in the ‘90s and ‘00s. The two parted ways in 2016, which is also the year this location opened. The restaurant closed on March 1.
Outfit Brewing
Craft beers take another hit in Dallas with the announcement that Outfit Brewing in Northwest Dallas, near Love Field, has closed its doors. That follows the closure in 2024 of Deep Ellum Brewing and news that Revolver beer is no longer being brewed at its original location in Granbury. Co-owner Zachary Flagg told CultureMap that the cause was a combination of rising costs since the pandemic and a more recent drop-off in private events that caused the brewery to lose an important revenue stream.
